Leg 2 Interlude: South Haven

Rest day today!

We had a day off in Milwaukee, and we had two days off in Chicago, but in those places, we had lots of things to do. Here, we mainly spent the day resting. So, there's not a lot to report.

This was our first of probably many days of doing laundry in the bathtub!

The downtown hotels here are quite expensive, so we're staying a couple miles south. Last night, we ate at a bowling alley across the street from our hotel, and it was surprisingly very very good. Has a good chance of being the best fish-and-chips I'll have this whole trip.

They have a strange form of bowling here, where the balls are so huge that they have to bore out finger holes just so people can hold them. Also, you only get two balls per frame, and the machine clears away all dead wood after you roll for some reason. It's clearly an inferior form of the sport, and I doubt it will ever catch on.

Today, we got lunch at our 3rd drive-in snack bar of the trip. This one was not nearly as good as the ones in Chicago and Kenosha.

In the late afternoon, we took a cab downtown, went to the Michigan Maritime Museum, and got dinner. And, that's about it.

Tomorrow, we head north to Holland.
