Are Our Bikes Stolen?

This page exists to document what our bikes look like before our summer 2026 trip. In case of theft, we might want help finding the bikes, or we might need to prove that they are indeed ours.

Tom's 2008 Jamis Aurora Elite

Frame is off-white and dark green, with black lettering on frame and white lettering on fork.

Distinctive Features:

  • Flat “H-Bar” handlebars
    • Grip/tape is brown and cow-print
    • Twist-shifter on right side only. Has two cables.
  • Internal gear rear hub
    • Only one visible gearwheel in the back
    • Large-diameter hub
    • Two cables run to left side of rear wheel
    • Large black lever arm attached to frame on left rear
  • Kids plastic noisemakers on rear spokes
  • Cantilever brakes front and rear

  • Serial number “WE810395” stamped on frame at bottom bracket
  • Handlebars:
    • Black aluminum “H-Bar” made by Jones
    • Twist shifter has bird logo, has number 1-14
    • Stem has winged logo on top
    • Steerer tube cap says “Jamis Bicycles”
  • Wheels
    • Front rim is black. Front hub is generic-looking silver
    • Rear wheel is more distinctive:
      • Silver rim, labeled with red “Dyad” sticker
      • Rear hub is labelled “Rohloff Speed Hub”. Is large in diameter and heavy
      • Small black case attached to left side of hub with two cables
  • Black cranks labelled “FSA”
    • Only one chainring in front
  • Black rear rack with red rack-top bag

Marna's Cannondale Synapse

Frame is black with white lettering and red accents

Distinctive Features

  • Rear rack:
    • Held on to bottom with silver brackets, and on top with P-clamps
    • White plastic cutting board attached to top with zip-ties (and Bromley Mountain sticker)
    • Red rack-top bag
  • Front and rear rims are different
    • Front is silver with yellow “Velocity” sticker
    • Rear is black with blue “Velocity Synergy” label

  • Serial number partially obscured by cable guide under frame’s bottom bracket
    • Left side shows “98” and “71R”
    • Right side shows “793” and “53”
    • Bar code sticker here says “R070208”
  • Red sticker on downtube that says “Wheel Works Belmont Somerville”
  • Standard drop handlebars with “brifters” and white/black/grey grip tape
  • Silver caliper rim brakes front and rear
  • Black seat with black seatpost
  • Silver cranks with 3 gear wheels
  • Standard rear derailleur setup
